 Kuala Lumpur Petaling Street

Aside from the popular shopping district of Petaling Street, the nearby buildings, clan houses and temples contain evidences of the city’s built heritage. Among them are the Lee Rubber Building, Kwong Siew Association, Old High Street Police Station, Police Sikh Temple, Old China Cafe, Old Victoria Institution and Sri Maha Mariamman Temple

 

 

 

 

 Getting There

Take the Putra LRT to the Pasar Seni Station. Chinatown is a 10-minute walk away.

You can bargain the prices until to certain level where by the trader will ask you how much you wiling to pay for the item, if the trader agree with the price you wanted, please buy the item.

 

How to Bargain

  1. Identify item you want to purchase first, take your time to survey others shop, if you not keen to buy don’t try to bargain but you always can ask the price.

  2. Ask them item price, do not refer to price tag. 

  3. Make a bargain by reduce the price that you think it reasonable (somewhere 30% – 40% from original price). Try buying in bulk at single shop, you will get extra discount.

  4. If they not agree, with smile you pretending walk away, they will call you back and asking how much you want to pay for the item. This is time you can demand the price you want.

  5. The bargain will much easily if you come with private tour guide or your personal travel guide.

 

Getting There

  • Hop on Hop off Bus
  • Taxi – RM 30 – RM 40 if you from Kuala Lumpur surrounding area such Golden Triangle
  • Take Star LRT to Masjid Jamek Station, 10 minutes walking from the station.
  • Take Putra LRT to Pasar Seni or Masjid Jamek, 10 minutes walking from the station.
